The Mortgage Analyst works in a team-based environment focusing on delivering high-quality market analysis and financial reporting. Responsibilities

Qualifications

The Mission

Your goal is to optimize loan proceeds. You will act as the primary "Deal Architect," analyzing borrower financials, identifying the hidden value in an asset, and structuring the debt (LTV, DSC, Amortization) to fit the specific risk appetites of our 100+ lender relationships.

Responsibilities 

•  Assist Mortgage Origination team in structuring mortgage opportunities based on the investment criteria of over 100 sources of mortgage capital available to Canada ICI.
• Finalize and perfect information in location specific mortgage investment brochures.
• Review commitment letters relative to executed Term Sheets/LOIs for the Mortgage Origination team, Lender and the Lender’s solicitor.
• Work with the Mortgage Origination team to manage and coordinate the funding process including but not limited to; reviewing the fully executed commitment letter, preparation of the funding checklist, ongoing communication with the Borrower and any third parties required as well as proactively addressing potential issues in underwriting and conditions precedents.
• Engages critical thought to ensure proactive thinking to successfully fund the deal.
• Have a strong understanding of lending criteria for each lender and be able to suggest appropriate lenders when needed.
• Liaise between Borrowers and Lenders to process the closing of the deal.

This role is central to supporting investors' CMHC-insured securitization processes, supporting internal pool administration, and ensuring accurate & timely reporting under CMHC's securitization programs. The successful candidate will also support credit underwriting activities through financial analysis, market research, rent comparables, borrower and property due diligence, and preparation of credit materials.

Credit Analyst Responsibilities:

Education & Skills 

• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is an asset
• 0–2 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or administrative roles is preferred
• Exposure to payroll systems (e.g., Payworks) or HRIS platforms is an asset but not required
• Basic understanding of payroll concepts (e.g., earnings, deductions, statutory remittances) is an asset
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to learn or basic understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, including federal and provincial requirements
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities 

• Support payroll processing activities by collecting, reviewing, and organizing employee payroll information, including hours worked, salary changes, vacation, leave, and other pay-related data.
• Assist in processing regular payroll and off-cycle payments in accordance with payroll calendars, timelines, and internal deadlines.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records for new hires, terminations, transfers, pay changes, banking updates, benefit deductions, and other routine changes, under direction.
• Assist with payroll calculations including statutory deductions (e.g., CPP, EI), benefits, and other payroll-related adjustments, as required.
• Support compliance with payroll requirements across multiple provinces by assisting with data entry and basic validation of statutory holiday pay, taxable benefits, and deductions.
• Help prepare payroll reports and documentation, including payroll registers, remittance summaries, and reconciliations, for review by senior team members.
• Assist with payroll year-end activities, including preparation of T4s, Records of Employment, and other required documentation, under supervision.
• Support payroll audits and record-keeping requirements, ensuring documentation is complete, organized, and maintained in accordance with company policies.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll-related activities.

The AML/ATF Analyst is part of a growing AML/ATF team, who are the first line of defense responsible for protecting the organization against financial crime risks. The ideal candidate is an ambitious self-starter looking to help build the AML team and program. Please note this position is in-person full-time.

Education and Skills 

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a Canadian Anti-Money Laundering related role; related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered; specific experience in the real estate or financial services industry would be an asset
• Anti-Money Laundering designation required, or willing to obtain within 1 year
• Strong understanding of standard and complex business structures
• Comfortable making decisions, and recommendations
• An investigative mindset, problem solver and curious nature
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Adaptable to change and the ability to juggle multiple conflicting priorities

Responsibilities

AML/ATF Compliance

• Review, follow up and provide AML/ATF approval for real estate deals across the organization
• Provide insight into suggestions to our AML/ATF program
• Assist in the planning and coordination of AML-related projects, where it relates to the administration, communication, reporting or training
• Complete enhanced due diligence reviews for higher risk clients
• Investigate and decision alerts for potential ML/TF risks
• Communicate and work with business units to address inquiries regarding the AML/ATF policy and procedures
• Prepare FINTRAC reports to be reviewed by the Senior Compliance Officer
• Assist in the development of forms, procedures and workflow of the AML team
• Monitor and document compliance activities, including suspicious transaction reporting, client identification, and record-keeping.
• Foster a culture of compliance awareness and ethical behavior throughout the organization
• Identify and assess potential compliance risks, providing recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
